Echoes

Echoes is an artist book conceptualized during an artist residency at the Art Gallery of Ontario. The book began as an investigation into the  gallery’s historic collections, a search that focused on three distinct categories: Women and  Strength, Women Overcome by Emotion, and Motherhood.

Pairing 31 works in the AGO’s permanent collection with the artist's own photographic works resulted in this series of uncanny parallels and  unexpected dialogues. Each of these pairings create new and altered meanings within and between each of the historic and contemporary works.
