What We Hold
What We Hold is series of sculptures and large-scale photographs, playfully considering varied definitions of 'inheritance'. Using collected and inherited objects, this series contemplates the act of holding/holding onto objects; the choice to live with them, pass them on to others, to let them go. Using objects as metaphors for all one carries inside them, this work layers histories, identities and narratives to ask the questions: : What have I inherited from my parents and theirs before them? What will I choose to carry, to keep? What will I pass on? What will I let go?
